Rock Stabilization & Cellular Concrete

Marathon Underground offers a range of rock bolt, rock anchors, wire mesh and cellular concrete services that can ensure the safety and stability of your infrastructure project.

Rock Stabilization

Whether you're looking for rock support as part of a much larger project or need a complete, fully engineered turnkey shoring solution – at Marathon Underground, we have the expertise and equipment to handle any project.

The difference is our in-house geotechnical engineering team. Every project is evaluated by both our field team and engineering team as a means to add value.

Whether part of a shoring system, deep shaft or tunnel application, we also have capabilities for specialty services, including:

  • Rock anchors and rock bolts: Long anchor bolts used in rock stabilization.
  • Wire mesh: High tensile steel meshing used to stabilize smaller rock pieces or larger unstable areas of rock.
  • Shotcrete: Sometimes called sprayed concrete, shotcrete is concrete conveyed through a hose and pneumatically projected at high velocity onto a surface.

Cellular Concrete & Fill Services

Cellular concrete is a cost-effective lightweight combination of water, foam and concrete used in non structural or fill type applications.

Typical installations include:

  • MSE wall,
  • Bridge approach fills
  • Slope stabilization
  • Flowable fill
  • Insulation of shallow utilities
  • Tunnel grouting
  • Pipe abandonment
  • Annular pipe grout

Crack Injection Waterproofing

Marathon is a licensed installer of GTI-1000. This product is a non-intrusive, restorative Polymer Rubber Gel membrane that is injected though the foundation to immediately repair active and future water leaks in below grade structures. The superior flexibility, adhesiveness and self-healing characteristics of GTI-1000, makes it a long-term solution for repairing and restoring failed waterproofing membrane.
